ISM 2026

Verato is excited to attend ISM 2026, where human services technology leaders come together to explore innovative solutions that improve program delivery, data sharing, and constituent outcomes. We look forward to connecting with state, county, and federal agency leaders to share how our next-generation identity solutions create a trusted foundation across fragmented systems—enabling more accurate insights, streamlined operations, and a more connected experience for the individuals and families they serve.

Breaking Silos: Identity-Driven Interoperability Across Human Services

As states modernize human services systems to meet rising expectations for digital access and federal interoperability mandates, many encounter a persistent barrier: fragmented identity across programs and agencies. Without a reliable way to match and manage identities, even the most advanced systems struggle to securely share data, coordinate services, or deliver a unified experience to residents.

This session presents a real-world case study from the State of Mississippi, where the Division of Medicaid and partner agencies established a single, trusted identity foundation to support statewide interoperability. As part of a broader modernization effort, Mississippi moved away from fragmented, legacy identity approaches and implemented a scalable model that enables secure data exchange across Medicaid, public health, and human services programs.

Attendees will learn how Mississippi partnered with Verato to build a unified identity layer, enable secure and compliant data sharing aligned with CMS interoperability requirements, integrate identity across a best-of-breed ecosystem, and reduce operational complexity while improving accuracy, trust, and access for residents.

The session will highlight practical lessons from implementation, including governance considerations, integration strategies, and how to manage identity in real-world conditions where data is often incomplete or inconsistent.

By focusing on the intersection of policy, technology, and service delivery, this session will provide a roadmap for agencies seeking to break down silos and deliver more coordinated, person-centered services at scale.
