Verato, a leading provider of identity services, announced today that Advocate Aurora will deploy its cloud-based master person index (MPI) to improve patient record matching for establishing a common view of patients across disparate systems. One of the 10 largest not-for-profit, integrated health systems in the U.S., Advocate Aurora chose Verato Referential Matching to advance patient data integrity without the complexity and costs of traditional MPI solutions.
“More than ever, healthcare organizations need innovative solutions that increase the value proposition of the rapidly growing volumes of patient data they are amassing,” said Mark LaRow, CEO of Verato. “Verato has established the benchmark in the industry for patient identification through our cloud-based referential matching, and we are excited to partner with an industry-leading organization like Advocate Aurora to advance person data integrity in healthcare.”
The initial launch of the Verato MPI will support imaging—an area that encompasses one of the largest revenue centers in many health systems. Amid growing demand for diagnostic services, Advocate Aurora will leverage the new MPI to harmonize data, creating efficiencies that improve radiology workflows and support better diagnostic decision-making through a whole-person view.
Recognized as an industry priority, patient identification and reduction of duplicate or inaccurate patient records affects patient safety and outcomes, quality initiatives and revenue integrity. A Pew Trust analysis estimates up to half of patient records exchanged between hospitals and other care facilities are not correctly identified.
Said Jason Bihun, chief commercial officer of Verato, “We deeply respect Advocate Aurora’s commitment to redefining the standard of care through innovative solutions and outstanding outcomes. Our partnership underscores our shared ideal of championing forward-thinking care models that support the future of coordinated care. Verato will provide the needed foundation for Advocate Aurora’s patient data across imaging. We look forward to this partnership for many years to come.”
